Well, here we are at the beginning of the Christmas season. This year I'm really having a difficult time getting used to the idea that I will be financially challenged by the end of it. Every year is the same - lots of gifts and lots of debt. For some reason this year the accumulation of the debt is weighing heavy on me, maybe because the economy is in the trash right now and I'm feeling the effects?
This is the season for giving, right? Why does this bother me so? Maybe I should give my gifts to people who need, rather than people who want. Will this make me feel better about it? Then again, my children and family will be disappointed won't they?
I went today to a store, to find a possible gift for someone. I ended up leaving the store without the gift, and the feeling that I wasted my time today. Maybe tomorrow will be more productive.
I'll try putting up some Christmas decorations this weekend - hopefully that will help me get into the spirit of "debt-induced giving". Maybe not.
